This instrument measures the boiling point of the alcohol mixture and compares it to the boiling point of water at that specific atmospheric condition.
The value obtained is then read from a special table to give the alcohol percentage. This instrument work well when there are little sugar in the mixture to be tested.
The glasschem Ebuliometer has a very accurate PT100 temperature probe with a resolution of 0.01 deg Celsius. We discontinued the Mercury thermometer due to health risks.
The unit has a built in algorithm to give alcohol percentage automatically after 3 minutes of boiling. The operator can return at a later stage and get the displayed alcohol percentage on the screen. The element will switch off once the measurement has been taken. Cooling water temperature is also monitored to ensure low enough temperatures for more consistent results.
